Custom Wedding Cakes

Each Bear Brook Bakery creation is handcrafted in our licensed home kitchen and designed to match your personal story and celebration style. Made with impeccable craftsmanship, outstanding flavor and a little bit of panache, every cake is crafted with fresh ingredients like real cream & butter, fresh fruits and high quality chocolate.  We make our own rich buttercreams and decadent ganache, as well as our own marshmallow fondant — which tastes great and offers infinite design possibilities. Nearly any design is possible; from grand wedding masterpieces to creative novelty grooms cakes. Your wedding day will be one of your most treasured memories, and we’ll help make it memorable and delicious.

Each cake is custom crafted just for you. Pricing shown here is meant as a guide and may vary depending on final design. Servings are 1x2x5 inches. Please inquire for an estimate.

 

Buttercream Cakes

$12 / Serving

Four layers of cake and three layers of buttercream filling are alternately stacked inside each tier and then covered with a smooth or textured buttercream finish. Choose from any of our delicious cake and buttercream flavors. Each cake is custom designed and baked to suit your style and special event. Final price will depend on the size of cake, and the intricacy of the design.

 

Sculpted Cakes

$16 / Serving and up

Sculpted to look like anything you can imagine, these cakes take your event centerpiece over the top. Sculpted cakes require additional time to plan and carve and sometimes require additional structural costs.

Fondant Cakes

$14 / Serving

The inside is similar to our buttercream cakes, but is then enrobed with a firm rich ganache and covered with a layer of homemade marshmallow fondant for a porcelain perfect smooth finish or textured pattern. Final price will depend on the size of cake, and the intricacy of the design.

 

Cupcakes / Sheetcakes

$5 & up cupcakes

$7.50 / Serving sheetcake

Cupcakes are a great option for weddings and special events. Our cupcakes are offered in the same flavors as our cakes and can be individually topped to your custom specifications at additional cost.

Wedding sheetcakes consist of the same four layers of cake and three layers of buttercream as tiered cakes and offer 108 servings

The Ordering Process

When to Get in Touch

Once you have chosen your event date, please fill out an inquiry form to check for availability. I recommend securing your date on my calendar nine to twelve months in advance due to the limited number of cakes I can make each week. A $300 non-refundable retainer is required to firmly secure your date. 

My Design Process

I will liaise with you via email, phone, or a scheduled consultation to talk about the elements of your special day and your dream cake. Drawing on those details as inspiration, we’ll design a cake to perfectly compliment your style and vision.  

Once the number of servings needed is finalized, any inspiration images are gathered, and all the elements you would like incorporated are discussed, I will create sketch profile options with accompanying quotes for your consideration and selection. Quotations are valid for 7 days and are secured by receipt of the $300 non-refundable retainer payment.  From there, we will fine-tune the design details including textures, patterns, colors and floral detail placement until the sketch is perfect!

Wedding Cake Tastings

For clients wishing to sample cake and buttercream flavors, I offer made-to-order tasting boxes perfect for two. This consists of 4 cake flavors, and 4 buttercream flavors which are packaged separately to enable you to mix and match flavor pairings while tasting. The fee for a tasting box is $55 if picked up in New Gloucester, or it can be dispatched to your chosen address for $66-75, including postage, depending on your location. 

Finalizing Your Order

Once we have finalized your cake size, design details, and flavor selections, I will complete your order contract and send you a copy to sign. I will also include an invoice detailing the remaining balance due. Payment is accepted by check or credit card. Alterations to the size and details of your order may be adjusted, at my discretion, no later than 4 weeks prior to the event date.  The remaining balance of your order will be due 21 days prior to your event date.

The Big Day!

Due to the delicate nature of tiered cakes, I provide full delivery and set-up service at your venue, including arrangement of florist-delivered cake flowers, if applicable. Before the big day, I will liaise with you, or directly with your wedding coordinator to arrange delivery time and confirm that all arrangements for assembly of the cake table are in order.  A standard delivery fee of $95 applies to venues within a 15 mile radius of New Gloucester, Maine. Cost of delivery to venues beyond that distance will be quoted individually.  Collection of 1 or 2-tiered cakes and/or boxed desserts from my premises is permitted with a signed waiver of my liability for it’s safety after leaving my possession.
