Is there an order minimum?

Yes. A $1200 minimum is required for orders, not including delivery.

Do you offer consultations and tastings?

I would be glad to chat with you via email or phone, or schedule an appointment to meet in person for a complimentary consultation to discuss your dream cake. 

For clients wishing to sample cake and buttercream flavors, I offer made-to-order tasting boxes that are perfect for two.  This consists of 4 cake flavors, and 4 buttercream flavors, which are packaged separately to enable you to mix and match flavor pairings while tasting. The fee for a tasting box is $55 if picked up in New Gloucester, or it can be shipped to your chosen address for $66-75 including postage depending on your location. I am unable to offer tastings of dessert table items, as all items are baked to order. Inquire about a custom tasting box.

Do you make cakes for special diets?

I take the health and safety of my clients and their guests very seriously. Please note that my kitchen DOES contain wheat, tree nuts, peanuts, eggs, and dairy. Even though I DO thoroughly sanitize, it is virtually impossible to eliminate all risk of possible trace contamination as allergen ingredients are present in my kitchen and have all come in contact with my baking equipment as some point. I strongly urge you to source dessert for guests with severe allergies from a dedicated allergen-free bakery.

That being said, I do offer flourless as well as eggless/dairy-free cake and buttercream options.

Can I make changes to my order?

Please check your contract carefully and let me know within 7 days whether changes are needed. Your satisfaction with your order is very important to me and should you require any alterations after that period, I will do my best to accommodate them up to 1 month prior to the event date. If the alteration affects the cost, or if the preparatory work on your order has already commenced, Bear Brook Bakery reserves the right to increase the quoted fee accordingly. 

Do you offer delivery service?

I offer a delivery and set-up service for all cakes. I am based in New Gloucester, Maine. Delivery fee starts at $95 and is calculated based on the distance to your venue and set-up time requirements.

How far will you deliver?

I deliver anywhere within a 3 hour radius of New Gloucester, Maine. Due to cost, I do not offer delivery outside of this area. However, you are welcome to collect your order if your venue is further away. If your order is collected it will be packaged appropriately and I will provide storage and transportation guidelines. Bear Brook Bakery cannot accept responsibility for any damage to collected orders after they have left our premises.

Do you have cake pedestals & dessert stands available for rent?

I love to collect gorgeous cake stands and dessert table display dishes and have a variety which are available for rent. Rented pedestals/stands are due to be returned within 6 working days of your wedding date, upon which the security deposit is refunded in the absence of any damage.

What is your cancellation policy?

Order cancellations must be made in writing. As your cake booking is reserved solely for you and certain components for your cake(s) may be ordered and/or made months in advance, the following conditions are implemented when an order is cancelled:

For orders cancelled within 3 weeks of your scheduled event date, the full balance is payable. All retainer payments are non-refundable.

Postponement of order due dates will be addressed case-by-case depending on the amount of notice given, prep work already completed, and availability for the new date. If Bear Brook Bakery does not have availability for the new date, the retainer payment is non-refundable, and the original order contract will be terminated.

Do you offer other desserts besides cake?

Yes! I offer a variety of desserts including cupcakes, brownies, macarons, pies, baklava, cake shooters, and other tasty treats. You can view the dessert table menu here!

How much will my cake cost?

Cake pricing is entirely dependent on size & extent of design, but as a starting point, buttercream cakes start at $12 per serving, fondant cakes start at $14 per serving, and sculpted cakes start at $16 per serving and go up from there. Sugar flowers, if applicable, are priced depending on intricacy of type & quantity.  I will give you a custom quote once we’ve discussed your cake design ideas together.
